Apulia

The Apulia region is one of the oldest wine-growing regions in the world and one of the reasons for its fame is the aromatic Primitivo grape. 

Elegant, intense, fruity and matured under the apulian sun, they are the basis of the Doppio Passo primitivo and the core of its success story. 

What started as a family business 

in 1928 near Venice by Maria and Carlo Botter has become an international success story culminating in the formation of a joint venture between Botter SPA and the German wine marketing powerhouse Rotkäppchen-Mumm Sektkellereien GmbH in September 2020.

We believe that

In the stunning landscapes of southern Italy

The Apulia region is among the oldest wine-growing regions in the world and home to the Primitivo grape, Zinfandel's Italian twin. Both grapes originated from the same old world vines. Primitivo grapes benefit from a warm climate with plenty of rain as well as long hours of sunshine and soil that contains limestone, clay or sandstone. All of which combine to give the grapes strong aromas and appealing structure.
